Healing Mud Baths!

Lo Pagan, healing mud

Lo Pagan is located at Mar Menor, about 8 km south of Torrevieja. You will find there healing mud known for its healing properties since ancient times.

La Puntica bay, where the mud is formed, has very high content of salt in the sea water. Many hours of sunshine help develop this very special mud. It is rich in calcium, magnesium, potassium  and sulphur. It is recommended for all kinds of skin diseases, stimulates healing of open wounds, works as antiseptic. It works wonders for joints affected with rheumatism and complicated fractures. The mixture of minerals in the air improves the condition of lungs and of the whole respiratory system.

You need to apply the mud all over your body and then wait until it dries out in the sun, then you  wash it off with sea water, which has also special healing properties in this place. The mud is available without any limitations and what is most important – it is for free!

To get there you need to drive on N332 towards Pilar. When you get to the roundabout with green fishing boat turn left towards Lo Pagan. You will pass a big hotel on your right - Thalasia. At the end of the road there will be a triangular building where you should start looking for a parking place. On the right you will see a magnificent sandy beach, on the left there are wooden decks prepared for mud theraphy. It is a good idea to take with you some sort of container (could be plastic bottle with cut off top) for mud. Ladies are advised to take an older bathing suit, not necessarily in white colour.
